Over a BILLION dollars in cuts are on the way for programs that help feed people in need.
More than $600 million of that is due to the cancellation of the LFS program, which buys food from local farmers and provides it to hungry kids in the form of school meals- a DOUBLE whammy to already struggling farmers and families.
More changes and cuts are likely on the way for SNAP, in spite of R.F. Kennedy Jr.’s claims that he wants to “Make America Healthy Again”. “Cutting food aid hurts kids, farmers and struggling folks,” noted U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA). “Why is Trump doing it? To help pay for his tax cut for the rich. Heartless.”
